EVERS FOCUSING ON MEDICAID FOR REVERSING OVERDOSES

Governor Tony Evers says expanding Medicaid will help start reversing the trend of deadly overdoses in the state.

The governor joined officials from the Department of Health Services at the second annual Opioid Forum today in Green Bay.  There were over 900 opioid overdose deaths in Wisconsin in 2017.  The governor wants to accept federal dollars and expand Medicaid to help fund addiction treatment.
