Republicans in Madison are making it clear, they will not expand BadgerCare. Top Republican leaders told reporters after a meeting with Governor Tony Evers yesterday that they will not accept his plan to expand Medicaid to families making more than the federal poverty level.
Evers says he may still include the idea in his budget. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says expanding government healthcare will hurt people looking for work in the private sector.
