The trial for a convicted murderer and rapist who wants to be released from supervision is wrapping up. Doctors testified earlier this week that 63-year-old Jeffery Smith has been “exceptional” under supervised release. The state had previously argued that Smith is still at risk of reoffending because of his past violent sexual history.
The brother of Susan Fahrman, Smith’s victim in 1987, says he believes the decision in the trial will come down to Smith’s prior and potential alcohol and drug use.
