POLITICAL SCENE IN WI COMES INTO FOCUS

The plot summary looks like this: Wisconsin Democrats are in a unique position of sweeping elections for every partisan constitutional office on the ballot. Democrats have earned control of the executive and judicial branches, while Republicans hold a commanding majority in both the Assembly and the state Senate.  The set-up could lead to gridlock in the lame duck session.

And as we being this season of Leave it to Evers:
The Republican leader of the state Assembly is threatening to take power away from Governor-elect Tony Evers before he even takes office.  Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said yesterday that he would discuss with Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald whether to limit Evers’ power.  An aide says Fitzgerald is open to the idea.  Evers’ spokeswoman says Vos is “doubling down on division.”
