The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has tips for keeping kids safe while trick-or-treating.
The department will be checking on some of the 65-thousand registered sex offenders living in the state, but there is also the public sex offender registry where people can check for offenders by name and zip code. There are restrictions on Halloween for sex offenders in Wisconsin, including staying home with their porch lights off and refraining from giving out candy.
