GOVERNORS RACE WEEKEND CLIFF NOTES

GOVERNORS RACE WEEKEND CLIFF NOTES

On the political scene, Governor Walker was the talker here over the weekend, making a stop in Eau Claire to reach out to voters here. He stopped at the Eau Claire Republican Field Office Saturday saying the area is important for his campaign politically and economically. Walker called the state better of than before he took office, citing lower unemployment rates.

On the other side of the ballot, Democratic candidate for governor Tony Evers is proposing to cut middle class income taxes in our state by ten-percent.-he put forth that idea after Governor Walker contended that Evers would raise a list of taxes.  The plan would provide the cut for individuals who make up to about 100-thousand dollars and families who make up to about 150-thousand.  To cover much of the tax cuts, Evers would scale back the manufacturing and agriculture tax credit by nearly 300-million dollars.
