Alcohol does appear to be a factor in a crash that happened in Barron County over the weekend. It was about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning when the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a one vehicle crash on County Road A and 18 1⁄2 Street, east of Dallas.
Preliminary investigation shows the operator of vehicle, 28 year old Phillip Kurtz, of Dallas, was westbound on County Road A when his vehicle went onto the shoulder. He then over corrected which caused him to go into the eastbound lanes and off the road hitting some trees. Kurtz
was ejected from the vehicle and was airlifter to Mayo Eau Claire where he was listed in critical condition.
